Strengthening foreign bribery and multinational tax laws and cracking down on misconduct are on federal parliament's agenda as it returns for a second week of the spring sitting period.

Both houses of parliament will sit in Canberra from Monday to Thursday before taking a three-week break.
The lower house will consider an amendment to address barriers to investigating and prosecuting foreign bribery, previously floated by the former coalition government in 2017 and 2019.
The amendments lapsed before they were brought on for debate.
On Monday, parliament's procedures committee will present a report looking at two aspects of the landmark Set the Standard report, which was followed up by a report in response entitled Raising the Standard.
The committee, chaired by Labor MP Shayne Neumann, received eight submissions and held four public hearings looking at the practices and procedures of the House of Representatives.
It looked at eliminating language, behaviour and practices in the parliamentary chambers that are sexist or otherwise exclusionary and discriminatory.
It also examined improving safety and respect in parliamentary chambers and how to ensure the sitting calendar and business programs "enhance wellbeing, balance and flexibility" for parliamentarians and staff.
Codes of conduct and behaviour outside the chamber have been covered by other committees.
In a bid to stamp out lobbyist misconduct, independent MP Monique Ryan will take the lead on a debate to overhaul regulations.
She will bring a motion to the lower house to extend the register of lobbyists to include registered professional lobbyists acting on behalf of third parties, services firms and lobbyists acting on behalf of businesses and industry bodies.
The independent also wants to extend the cooling-off period for former MPs and senior government officials to three years in keeping with international best practice, introduce new penalties under the lobbying code of conduct and ensure the National Anti-Corruption Commission can investigate alleged breaches of the code.
The Senate will debate the proposed Jobs and Skills Australia body which will provide advice to government to improve employment opportunities and economic growth.
