Matildas fans scrambling for a coveted seat in the stands at the FIFA Women's World Cup semi-final against England are being warned to be wary of scammers.

The National Anti-Scam Centre has issued a warning after receiving reports of scams targeting soccer fans on social media.
The reports include fraudulent ticket sales and fake livestream links to matches.
Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) deputy chair Catriona Lowe said fans should be "very careful" when trying to buy last minute tickets to popular events like the World Cup finals.
"We are already seeing initial reports of scam activity, particularly on Facebook, where scammers are responding to posts from people looking for tickets and using compromised accounts to sell non-existent tickets," Ms Lowe said.

"There have also been reports of scammers claiming there is a problem with the payment and asking for it to be made again."
According to the ACCC, scammers often send a screenshot with fake proof of ownership of a ticket after posting or messaging people on social media.
Consumers are advised to only buy tickets from authorised sellers or resellers to ensure they are legitimate.
Ms Lowe said fake links to livestream sporting events often ask people to enter payment details to subscribe to watch the event.
"In most cases, scammers steal the credit card details and fail to deliver the content signed up for," she said.
The hype around the Matildas has grown with every win and each step closer to the August 20 final.
Only about 80,000 fans will experience the semi-final live at Sydney's Stadium Australia on August 16.
But those who miss out or are from other parts of the country can tune in and enjoy the atmosphere at live sites and local venues.
The semi-final kicks off at 8pm Sydney time and is broadcast on Channel 7 and Optus Sport.
