The last thing an 8-year-old boy expected to find in a public bathroom at a sports oval was a needle and syringe hiding inside the roll of toilet paper.

Unaware of the danger, the boy injured to his hand with the needle after using the Port Macquarie public bathroom at around midday on August 27.
Police said the needle was still attached to the syringe and was rolled into the layers of toilet paper - making it hard to spot.
NSW Police confirmed the public toilet used by the boy was at Wayne Richards Park, a sporting oval, on Koala Street in the NSW mid north coast town.
The child was taken to Port Macquarie Hospital for treatment.
Police have started an investigation into the incident.
As inquiries continue, police urge anyone with information about the needle, or those involved, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
