The severed head of a horse was left outside the Murray Bridge home on August 28. It was discovered by the occupants and their spooked dog, who was growling at door.
Amy Louise, one of the occupants, said she doesn't know why the bloody remains were left on her doorstep.
"It's very disturbing and not nice at all to wake up to that," she said to media outside her home.
"I am fearless, I am not scared and this needs to stop now," she said.
Police said they "have yet to locate the outstanding remains of the animal".
A trail of blood leading to the Murray Bridge property was found.
The severed head of a horse is associated with a threat made in 1972 film The Godfather directed by Francis Ford Coppola.
In the film, studio president Jack Woltz refuses to give crooner Johnny Fontane a movie role but changes his mind after finding the head of his prized racing horse in his bed.
Police said investigations are continuing.
