Defence and police forces from Australia, New Zealand, the United States, the Solomon Islands, France and South Korea have joined the initiative to help train and improve safety and awareness about unexploded ordnance.
The Australian army disarmed a 227kg bomb from World War II in Nauru in July as part of Operation Render Safe.
Nauru was occupied by Japan and bombed by the US during the Second World War.
