NSW Police believe the intended target of a shooting that wounded a 9-year-old girl in Connells Point in 2022 was her father.

At around 5.50pm on July 8, 2022 emergency services were called to the home after a "number of shots" were fired.
The 9-year-old girl was taken to hospital where she underwent multiple surgeries, police said.
A woman and two other children were present during the shooting but escaped uninjured.
Footage of a black Toyota Aurion with green P plates has been released as police call for public assistance identifying the car allegedly used by offenders before the shooting.
The Toyota allegedly transported offenders from Westmead to Strathfield where they swapped cars to a black BMW and drove to the Connells Point address.
IN OTHER NEWS:
A gun found in nearby bushland, a red mini cooper and a burnt-out black BMW found in Oatley were seized by police for forensic and ballistic testing.
Three men have been charged in relation to the shooting but police said the investigation is ongoing.
