Emergency services responded to reports a light plane had crashed into powerlines about 8.50am on December 12, on Winegrove Rd in Lilydale, about 25km west of Grafton.
"It's believed two people on the aircraft have died," a NSW Police spokesperson said.
"Police are working to identify the occupants of the plane."
NSW Ambulance, Fire and Rescue NSW and NSW SES crews are on the scene alongside officers from the Coffs/Clarence Police District.
"Police will be working with aviation authorities to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash," the spokesperson said.
