At 9pm, the city will be lit up with its traditional fireworks display over the harbour and lighthouses.
From 5pm, families can make the most of food trucks near the harbour in Osborne Park. A New Year's Eve carnival will also run between December 26 and January 7 in Lang Park on Marine Drive.
Sydney
Gear up for Australia's most famous fireworks display over the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
The colossal New Year's celebration has revealed 49 special vantage points to best view the show, which kicks off with a smoking ceremony at 7.30pm.
Enjoy the amazing shows on and off throughout the evening, culminating in amazing pyrotechnics atop the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
Canberra
Enjoy fun with the whole family on Lake Burley Griffin this year.
Two traditional fireworks shows have been combined into one, longer dazzling display at 9pm, running for more than 15 minutes.
Premium viewing points with boom boxes can be found on Rond Terrace, Regatta Point and Commonwealth Place.
Alternatively, grab a picnic rug and head up to Mount Ainslie or Red Hill nature reserves for a great vantage point.
The fireworks will also be visible in parks from the suburbs of Action, Civic, Barton, Campbell, Kingston, Reid, Russell and Yarralumla.

Head to Maitland Riverbank, Riverside Carpark and RH Taylor Reserve, Lorn to ring in the New Year with a bang.
A family-friendly event from 5pm will offer free amusements, face painting, live music and a disco reliving the year's top hits.

Come enjoy two light shows over Jack Evans Boat Harbour at 9pm on New Year's Eve. Twin Towers Resort will run another show at midnight to ring-in the New Year.

The fun fair offers a sideshow alley, dodgem cars and food trucks from 5pm on The Esplanade, with a spectacular fireworks display lighting up the sky at 8pm.

New Year's Eve at the Darwin Waterfront will offer family friendly fun with two fireworks displays, a neon disco and raft of local entertainment.
Local musicians will wow crowds from 5pm onward. Two fireworks displays will light up the sky at 9pm and midnight, with liquid light and neon fairies promising to entertain the children for hours on end.
Brisbane
Celebrate the New Year with multiple spectacular fireworks displays at the Queensland capital.
Held at the South Bank Parklands, one display will take off at 8.30pm and another at midnight. The amazing show can be seen around the riverbank.
The event is alcohol-free and free to attend.
Gold Coast

The best public viewing locations include Ironbark Park, South Ripley, the Springfield Central Sporting Complex, Bill Paterson Oval, Limestone Park and the Tivoli Drive In.
