WHO ARE THE VICTIMS?
* Six people were killed in a mass stabbing attack at Westfield Bondi Junction, in Sydney's eastern suburbs, on Saturday afternoon
* The victims include 25-year-old Dawn Singleton, the daughter of millionaire John Singleton, 38-year-old osteopath Ashlee Good, 47-year-old architect Jade Young, 55-year-old artist and designer Pikria Darchia and 27-year-old Chinese student Yixuan Cheng
* Security guard Faraz Tahir, 30, was also killed, while another guard was injured during the rampage
* Eight others remain in hospital, including Dr Good's nine-month-old baby, whose condition is improving following surgery
* Four people have been released from hospital
WHO KILLED THEM?
* Queensland man Joel Cauchi, 40, who was believed to have been sleeping rough in Sydney since moving to the city in late 2023
* Cauchi's estranged family said he had battled mental health issues for decades
* Authorities do not believe the incident was an ideologically motivated terrorist attack, however police are investigating why women were specifically targeted
HOW DID THE ATTACK UNFOLD?
* Cauchi was seen entering Westfield Bondi Junction about 3.10pm, leaving and then returning a short time later before he began attacking people
* Hundreds of people ran from the centre as others took shelter in shops and stockrooms
* Police inspector Amy Scott was nearby and responded alone as people gave her directions
* Cauchi was fatally shot on level five of the shopping centre after being confronted by Inspector Scott
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
* Police removed more than 100 pieces of potential evidence from the crime scene before handing the shopping centre back to owners
* Mr Minns announced up to $18 million in additional funding for the state coroner as an inquiry begins
* Flags are at half mast around the nation and the Sydney Opera House sails will be illuminated with a black ribbon on Monday night
* Mental health clinicians are offering support at the scene
* The investigation will be independently monitored by the NSW Law Enforcement Conduct Commission, as is standard for police-involved shootings
* A permanent memorial is being considered to remember victims
