An 11-year-old boy is in a critical condition after being hit by a car in the Brisbane suburb of Ashgrove on Wednesday afternoon.

Queensland Police said at 4pm the Ashgrove boy was crossing Waterworks Road west of Fulcher Road when he was struck by a black Ford Ranger travelling east.
The boy was rushed to the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital in a critical condition.
The male driver of the car was not injured, and the Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
Police were appealing for witnesses to the incident.
A police spokeswoman said there was no update on the boy's condition on Thursday morning.
