Only 14,000 tickets to the Gabba Test match against Sri Lanka were released by Cricket Australia, well short of the 26,644 spectators sent home early on Thursday after the stadium's lights went out.
A Queensland Cricket spokesman said 2500 tickets a day for the first four days were made available to those disappointed Big Bash fans, who were emailed a redeemable code after the game.
Most of the initial 10,000 tickets were snapped up by Sunday afternoon.
Cricket Australia released 4000 more tickets, with most claimed by Monday afternoon.
No complimentary tickets for day five were released due to there being no guarantee the Test match, which runs from January 24 during the Australia Day long weekend, would last the full five days.
Only a gold coin is required for entry to day five cricket for all Australian Test matches.
"We had the allocation given to us by Cricket Australia in good faith, there were enough overs bowled [in the Big Bash clash] to constitute the non-refund policy," the Queensland Cricket spokesman said.
"The allocation per day was communicated to people within 24 hours of the match ending.
"The spectators whose details we had were sent an email from Brisbane Heat explaining how to redeem those tickets.
"It was unfortunate for the lights to go out but it was out of the control of the stadium, Brisbane Heat and the event organisers.
"For the remaining Heat games and Test match ... Energex will be on site and able to react quickly if something happens."
The spokesman said Queensland Cricket had been contacted by spectators who had not received a redeemable code via email because Ticketek did not have every spectator's details.
Those who did not receive an email were being encouraged to contact Queensland Cricket and they would be sent a different code to redeem tickets to the Test match.
A faulty cable underneath Stanley Street was behind the Gabba being plunged into darkness, which saved the Brisbane Heat from likely defeat at the hands of the Sydney Thunder.
Needing 187 for victory after a historic Shane Watson century, the Heat were 2-10 in the third over of their innings when the power cut struck and the match was eventually abandoned.
Power at the stadium was out for about an hour but another 80 minutes passed before electricity was restored for the remaining 45 affected buildings in Woolloongabba and East Brisbane, Energex said.
Fans were left to amuse themselves, even jokingly turning on their phones' torch lights in an effort to get play back under way.
Power was rerouted to the Gabba as a temporary fix on the night before Energex crews found and replaced the faulty section of the underground network on Friday.
Cricket Australia has been contacted for comment.
