A semi-trailer has careered off the Logan Motorway, crashed through a fence and come to a stop on top of a line of forklifts.

The crash happened about 7am on Monday in Parkinson, on Brisbane's outskirts and bordering Logan, when the truck veered off the eastbound lanes.

The Queensland Ambulance Service wrote on Twitter: "It's reported the truck left the motorway, impacted a fence and mounted a forklift."
The male truck driver was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious but stable condition with chest injuries.
