A man in his 50s has been rushed to hospital with serious head injuries after being hit by a collapsing wall at a construction site east of Brisbane.

Paramedics were called to the site on Old Cleveland Road in Capalaba at 1.38pm, police officers and fire crews also attended the scene.
Fairfax Media understands the man and a colleague were working on the three-metre wall from adjacent scaffolding when the wall started to collapse.
Early indications are a strong gust of wind may have been responsible for the wall collapse.
As the wall came down, the man jumped off, but his colleague stayed on the scaffolding.
The man was hit by the falling wall after he landed on the ground, but his colleague escaped injury.
The man was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.
Workplace Health and Safety Queensland is investigating.
