Maverick Labor backbencher Jo-Ann Miller has launched another broadside over corruption allegations in the Ipswich City Council, calling for more to be done to root out "baddies" on both sides of politics.

Speaking under parliamentary privilege on Thursday afternoon, Ms Miller said the worst issue when it came to reporting corruption was the risk of not being believed.
"I wasn't believed for 14 long years," she said.
"And then when the mud is thrown, it becomes a do-or-die situation. It comes out, it comes to the bottom line of kill or be killed, because that's what happened to me in relation to Ipswich City Council."
Ms Miller called for the leadership of both sides of the Parliament to "absolutely" root out corruption, "no matter what".
"All of us have got blood on our hands when it comes to having corrupt people in our parties," she said.
"It's the good people who are required to call it out on all occasions and say, time's up, on your bike, get out of the party, get out of the Parliament."
Ms Miller, the member for Bundamba, said she was "belligerent" and vowed to stay the course to the end.
"I think the amazing thing about standing here in the Parliament this afternoon is the fact that I could have retired or went off into the wilderness, broken and in despair, but I still stand here today as a light to anyone in the Parliament or anyone within local government to say, you can do it, if you ever see corruption," she said.
The former police minister has previously claimed she told Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk about allegations relating to the former Ipswich mayor Paul Pisasale, and said Deputy Premier Jackie Trad was aware too.
However, at the time, Ms Trad said every complaint and allegation received while she was local government minister was managed according to law.
A Crime and Corruption Commission investigation into Ipswich City Council led to charges against 15 people, of which seven were either current or former council employees or councillors.
Ms Miller was speaking during debate on the Crime and Corruption and Other Legislation Amendment bill, which would widen the definition of corrupt conduct.
During the debate, MPs from both Labor and the LNP pointed out examples from the other side of politics.
"[Corruption] is a cancer on society and whenever you have a cancer, you hit it, you hit it hard and you root it out," Ms Miller said.
"It's very easy for the other side to talk about corruption, and blame us over here, and it's very easy for us, over on our side of the house, to talk about the Fitzgerald inquiry.
"It does not matter because there are goodies and baddies on both sides of politics."
