Stepping into the politically risky world of commercial breakfast radio, LNP leader Deb Frecklington seemingly channelled former US president Bill Clinton, who in 1992 famously said he "didn't inhale" when smoking marijuana.

Asked if she had ever tried drugs, Ms Frecklington said: "Ah, yes."

"I had a few puffs when I was quite young, but I got really sick so I've never gone back," she told Brisbane radio station Hit105 on Wednesday.

Ms Frecklington said one of her husband Jason's good friends had a "huge amount of problems because of drug use".

"So we've both become just such staunch advocates against, and we've seen how it affects them mentally and so, yeah, probably regret that I did," she said.

Numerous politicians have confessed to smoking weed in their younger days, including former US president Barack Obama.

Earlier this month, NSW Greens MP Cate Faehrmann admitted to taking MDMA, while federal Opposition Leader Bill Shorten said he "might have done something" during his university days.

Ms Frecklington was also asked about methamphetamines and pill testing - the latter of which divided the party earlier this month when LNP frontbencher Christian Rowan said it should be considered in Queensland following a spate of deaths at festivals, including 22-year-old Brisbane man Joshua Tam.

"This is hardline drugs that kill people and the reason why drugs are illegal is because they do kill people, I mean, these pills, look at what has happened over Christmas for example," she said.

"Just absolute tragedies, and I think our kids just need to know that drugs kill, simple as that."

One of Ms Frecklington's first actions after becoming opposition leader was to lead a series of forums about the drug ice in regional centres.

Health Minister Steven Miles has previously said Queensland Health was considering the findings of a report from an Australian-first pill testing trial at the Groovin The Moo festival in Canberra in April last year.

Ms Frecklington said she was "very open with any skeletons".

The member for Nanango, in the South Burnett region, also admitted stealing a lollipop when she was about five.

"I actually stole a lollipop at the Wandoan shop when I was small," she said.

"I remember it so much because my mum was really, really cranky."

Ms Frecklington said her mother took her back and made her apologise.

"Yes. Embarrassing. It was a lollipop. It was a Chupa Chups ... I was in a lot of trouble," she said.

Ms Frecklington said her "hall pass" would be actors Matthew McConaughey and Simon Baker.

Made famous by the US comedy film Hall Pass, the term is generally a joke made by people in relationships about who they found attractive and would sleep with, if given permission from their partner.

Ms Frecklington said she had blocked some people on her social media accounts who had "got extremely dodgy with some of their hate".

"Anyone that swears or is too abusive, they get blocked," she said.

Ms Frecklington was playing a game with hosts Stav, Abby and Matt in which she was only allowed to "plead the fifth" and avoid answering two questions.

She declined to name her least favourite politician.

"That's a really hard one because there's so many," she said.

Ms Frecklington also passed on a question about how much money was in her everyday bank account.

"Not a great deal because I've got three kids," she laughed.

"Do I have to say the exact amount? I'm going to have to plead the fifth."

Ms Frecklington became leader of the LNP in December 2017, after the party lost the Queensland state election while she was deputy to Tim Nicholls.
