This unfamiliar sight was that of a proud Tuggeranong Valley skipper. Proud of a side filled with players unsure of where they want to go, unsure of their place in the world, unsure of how to stop edging their damned cover drives.

It was the perfect scene to absorb Tuggeranong's Cricket ACT Twenty20 Cup triumph, a pulsating 14-run win over the Ginninderra Tigers on Sunday night.

The elusive piece of silverware will kickstart Devoy’s dream of a treble as they set their sights on the one-day and two-day trophies. He quickly told his side they have "two more to get", but not before letting the satisfaction of a Twenty20 triumph wash over him.

"Sometimes it’s very easy to get carried away in the moment and you don’t necessarily get to step back and capture it in your mind and have that mental photograph," Devoy said.

"It was nice to go down to long off and see the whole ground, see the celebration and experience it that way.

"It feels absolutely awesome. I couldn’t be prouder of the efforts the boys put in through the whole Twenty20 campaign."

With the trophy come a batch of plane tickets to Adelaide for the first National Premier Twenty20 championships against the country's best Twenty20 outfits on March 5-6.

But first, time for celebrations. As Tuggeranong belted out their team song just before 9.30pm in the change rooms to kick off a party sure to continue long into the night, it wouldn't have felt more satisfying for many than man of the match Tim Floros.

He is more than likely going to enjoy a good night's rest - or a couple of hours at least - as the enjoyment carries over to Chisholm Oval.

Floros sent Tuggeranong to the final with a semi-final century and looked primed to back it up when he raced to 40 (32) in the decider, but he clipped one into the waiting hands of Jack Preddey to inadvertently breathe new life into the Tigers.

Wickets fell as regularly as Brendan Fevola yells "pressure point" to leave Tuggeranong to defend 6-135, as a hearty crowd of Ginninderra fans began to roar with every stroke played in the run chase.

Try as they might, they couldn't stop the required run rate from climbing higher as Jason Floros (3-16), Benji Floros (2-19) and Tim Floros (1-19) turned the knife.

"We’ve seen some standout performances along the way but Timmy Floros, that hundred in the semi-final was something else," Devoy said.

"It was a pretty hot day, I don’t think he had much juice left in the legs. Rumour has it he was up until 2am trying to get some concert tickets for later in the year."

It capped off a whirlwind day for Tuggeranong, who made their way into the final on the back of a devastating Floros ton (101 not out from 60 balls) in a dominant 75-run win over ANU in the second semi-final.

Floros carried his bat and ripped the Owls attack to pieces in the process, before Tuggeranong backed up his effort in restricting ANU to just 5-118 despite Dan Leerdam's (56 not out) best efforts.

The final defeat marked the end of a hectic week for Ginninderra, who had only scraped into the semi-finals and escaped an appeal from Weston Creek Molonglo in the process, so they weren't going to let their opportunity slip when they opened the day.

The Tigers toppled minor premiers Western District-UC by four wickets as Michael Delaney blasted a quickfire 41 not out (22) to surpass the Lions' 7-137 inside 19 overs and book a ticket to the final.

Alas, the 26-year premiership drought lives as the Tigers set their sights on their first piece of first grade silverware since they won the two-day title in 1992-93. May they meet again.
