Data from the "black box" recording devices installed in the mobile cranes involved in two serious Canberra industrial accidents over the past three days will be analysed by Work Safe ACT this week.

Each of the cranes contain devices that measure a variety of technical information such as the configuration of the crane, the weights, the loads and the balance.
No-one was injured in either incident, but two workers at the Hume site were just metres away from where the boom hit the ground and in Gungahlin, the driver of a light truck had stepped out before his cabin was crushed by a falling 10-tonne counterweight.
Coincidentally, both cranes were manufactured by the same company, Grove.
In the Hume incident early on Friday afternoon, the boom crashed to the ground at a site on Sawmill Circuit.
In the Gungahlin incident, a mobile crane had completed the building of a tower crane at the Jade residential tower site on Gribble St about 8.10am on Sunday and was being dismantled when a huge counterweight fell and crushed the driver's side of a truck cabin.
Such was the extent of the damage, Work Safe ACT Commissioner Greg Jones said that if anyone had been sitting in the truck "they wouldn't be here now".
"In both these incidents, it was very lucky that people working at the sites were not seriously injured or killed," Mr Jones said.
Once both mobile cranes were assessed for their roadworthiness, they would be driven back to Sydney for repairs.
"There's not much further we can say at this time until we have a good look at the data with the help of engineers, and investigate both incidents further," Mr Jones said.
He said that with the amount of construction work happening in Canberra, it was not unusual to see mobile cranes working at multiple sites around the territory.
In 2016, a man was killed at a University of Canberra hospital site when he was hit by a crane that fell sideways when lifting an 11-tonne generator.
