Two young girls are "lucky" to have escaped with nothing more than minor injuries after a rally car crashed through a fence and into the crowd at a monster truck show in Brisbane's south, their father says.

Audience members sprang into action to lift the rally car after the driver appeared to lose control during a performance at Mount Gravatt Showgrounds about 6.30pm on Saturday.
Cleveland father Mark Bluck said a stock car came through the fence, injuring his daughters Lilly, 10, Hannah, 7, and partner, Kelly Harris.
"A stock car came through the fence and ran the 2 girls over," he wrote on Facebook, on the way to the hospital with Lilly.
"Lilly may have a broken ankle and Hannah has grazes a grazed face and Kelly Harris has a few cuts and bruises on her legs."
According to police, the car lost its steering after going over a jump during the performance, before going through a fence and into the crowd.
Lilly was taken to the Queensland Children's Hospital with a suspected broken ankle but Mr Bluck later said "nothing is broken", adding his daughter was very swollen and bruised.
"Thank God but a very sore and lucky girl," he wrote.
Shortly before the incident, Mr Bluck posted an image of his children at the Mount Gravatt Showgrounds.
Ms Harris said there was no time to do anything when the car came towards them.
"We thought it would stop before the fence," she told 9 News.
"And then it was there, on top of us."
Hannah said the car came at her before the gate fell on her chin.
A monster truck event promoter, Monster Truck Promotions Australia, said Saturday's accident damaged the reputation of the sport.
"We understand that everyone would be very upset and angry as are we," the company posted on Facebook.
"This degrades and slowly attacks all of us companies that do ahead by public safety and the rules."
Saturday's event was promoted by Ultimate Monster Trucks, which said on Facebook the accident occurred due to a "mechanical fault" with an independent vehicle.
Criticisms from spectators have focused on the use of metal fencing, not concrete barriers, to separate people from the vehicles and the apparent lack of medical staff at the event.
Beck Buckman said showgoers had to rely on police for updates.
The Ultimate Monster Family Show was scheduled to take place at the showgrounds on Saturday night, starting just half an hour before the incident.
The organisers did not respond to calls on Saturday and Sunday.
Ms Buckman said she had taken her 11-year-old daughter with her friend to the event, which was advertised as a "fun, family night out".
"We paid a $100 a ticket and it left our kids traumatised, they felt physically sick watching it," she said.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said as far as he was aware, there were no first aid officials on the scene when crews arrived.
Fairfax Media has reached out to Mr Bluck's extended family for comment.
