The federal government's review into the Australian Public Service has put the call out for submissions, with review chair David Thodey encouraging all Australians to have a say.

"Whether you are part of the APS, are in business, a community organisation, or someone who uses government services, you will have an opinion on how the public service should serve the public - and we want to hear it," Mr Thodey said.
The review was announced by Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull last month, and is set to report back in the first half of 2019.
Its broad terms of reference cover innovation and productivity as well as improving the general public's experiences in dealing with the public service.
"The world has changed a great deal over recent decades, and it will continue to change at a rapid pace," Mr Thodey said.
"When the Prime Minister announced the Independent Review he recognised that we must be ready to seize the opportunities presented by global social and economic trends, by new innovations, technologies and ideas."
Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for the Public Service Kelly O'Dwyer said it was important that the public service was "fit-for-purpose in the years ahead".
“Public consultations are an excellent opportunity for people to share their vision for the future of the APS. It is a chance to let the Panel know what works well, and what needs to change," she said.
The website for the independent review said APS employees are encouraged to make a submission.
"We welcome submissions made in an insightful, professional and respectful manner," it said, referring public servants to the APS Code of Conduct for information on how to provide comments in the context of their employment.
The deadline for submissions is July 13, giving six weeks to make a contribution.
