An inquest into the death of a helicopter pilot in Antarctica resumed on Wednesday to hear evidence from medical experts.

Captain David Wood, 62, died on the remote continent after landing his helicopter on an ice shelf and stepping into a crevasse.
He was trapped within the ice for hours while his colleague flew back to Australia's Davis station for help.
Mr Wood fell unconscious during the rescue, and died of hypothermia the next day, on January 12, 2016.
On Wednesday, the ACT Coroner's Court heard from three expert witnesses, who gave evidence at the same time in a method known as hot-tubbing.
They was Dr Jeff Brock, an army surgeon, Dr Roland Watzl, a specialist in polar medicine who worked for the Australian Antarctic Division, and Professor Gordon Giesbrecht, from the faculty of kinesiology and recreation management at the University of Manitoba.
Among the questions they were asked were ones around what could have been done in terms of medical treatment to save the Australian-Canadian pilot's life.
On the flight to save Mr Wood, there were three specialist search and rescue officers but no doctors, and limited medical equipment, because of limited space in the small "squirrel" helicopters.
On including doctors on a rescue mission, Dr Watzl noted that it may not be possible to train them to the same level as the rescue specialists.
Professor Gordon Giesbrecht made a case for better re-warming equipment, noting Mr Wood was warmed with hot water bottles that had been filled up hours earlier.
But Dr Watzl said even the transfer to the heated helicopter was a big improvement in the situation.
Dr Brock also said there was a "compelling" case for a bigger helicopter at the station.
He also spoke of the importance of keeping "positively engaged" with the person being rescued, with reference to his efforts evacuating wounded soldiers from the field.
But he also said that was not much use in this case given Mr Wood had fallen unconscious.
Having a machine such as a defibrillator available might be useful, the court heard, but only to the extent it worked. And that was unlikely in the cold Antarctic climate.
In the case of Mr Wood the experts agreed a defibrillator would not have made much difference.
The inquest, before Chief Coroner Lorraine Walker, is expected to continue on Thursday before resuming again next year.
