1. FUN RUN
The fourth annual Run for Your Lifeline is on this Saturday around Lake Burley Griffin. The event includes events for all ages and abilities with a 5km, 10km, half marathon and full marathon. Medals will be awarded to everyone who crosses the finish line and 100 per cent of each registration goes towards the local 13 11 14 crisis support line.The race start point is at Patrick White Lawns, near the National Library in Parkes. Runners can register online or in person from 4pm to 9pm on Friday, or 5am-6am on race day Saturday. Event start times are between 6am-8am. See act.lifeline.org.au

2. DAY OF THE DEAD
The annual Day of the Dead Fiesta is on again this Saturday 1pm-8pm at Ainslie Arts Centre. The event celebrates Latin American music, dance, food and art, and will feature live music, dance performances, face painting and market and food stalls (including a bar). Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children and include a Mexican Wrestling demonstration and photo session. See eventbrite.com.au
3. LUCHA LIBRRE
Lucha Fantastica is bringing its exciting Mexican wrestling show to Canberra in conjunction with the Day of the Dead Fiesta. Masked wrestlers will perform a combination of sport, entertainment and dramatic storytelling as part of an authentic Mexican wrestling display. The night will also feature live music from Melbourne's The New Monos. The show will be held at the Harmonie German Club from 8pm. Tickets are $45 and the show is 18+. See moshtix.com.au

4. MAKERS AND SHAKERS
Albert Hall will host the Makers and Shakers Market on Saturday from 10am-3pm. The market is an indoor event bringing together market stall holders and visitors who care about how things are made, what they are made of and where they come from. Lifestyle products, homewares and food will be for sale from more than local and interstate stalls. The market has a $2 entry fee and visitors are advised to bring cash as there are no ATMs onsite. 5. WINE FESTIVAL
Six Canberra wineries will take part in this year's Hills of Hall Wine Festival in the Murrumbidgee Valley. Each winery taking part will be releasing a new white wine as part of festival, which will combine live music, great food and beautiful scenery with local wines. Each winery will be open 10am-5pm Saturday and Sunday and bookings are advised for visitors wishing to have a sit down lunch. All within 20 minutes' drive from Canberra, the wineries taking part are Brindabella Hills, Capital Wines, Hops and Vine, Pankhurst, Surveyors Hill and Wallaroo Wines. See brindabellahills.com.au
6. FILM FESTIVAL
Wrapping up this weekend, the Canberra International Film Festival 2017 has expanded its retrospective content to make up more than half of the festival's program. Films on this weekend include Westwind: Djalu's Legacy, a new documentary about an Aboriginal elder searching for a leader in the next generation, and Western Approaches, an acclaimed British wartime naval drama from 1944. Cinephiles can also attend a talk from internationally respected film critic Chris Fukiwara, who is the former director of the Edinburgh International Film Festival. Screenings and talks are held in the Arc Cinema at the National Film and Sound Archive. See nfsa.gov.au
