The ACT Rural Fire Service has been asked to help the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service with the fire about four kilometres north-west of Uriarra.
The Emergency Services Agency said the ACT has sent three units and a bushfire fighting helicopter to the fire.
Uriarra residents would notice a number of aircraft movements and potentially smoke from the fire.
