Emergency crews were first called to a single vehicle crash on Yamba Drive shortly before 7am, two hours before a three vehicle crash on the same roadway.
The collision between a truck and two cars in Mawson caused some traffic delays and left one person with minor injuries. The patient was later taken to the Canberra Hospital.
An ACT Policing spokesman said officers were also called to Patterson Street in Ainslie shortly after 8am, while two cars blocked traffic following an earlier crash on Novar Street in Yarralumla.
Eastbound traffic on Hindmarsh Drive was also disrupted by a two car collision near Mugga Lane in Symonston shortly before 8.30am, while drivers are being urged to avoid the scene of a two car collision on Ellerston Avenue and Drumston Street in Isabella Plains.
