The leak was detected about 5.20pm, affecting peak hour commuters. The gas was discovered to be coming from the cylinder compartment on the roof of the bus. The leak was contained early, but passengers at the busy interchange were evacuated. Bus services continued to operate from the Hellenic Club car park across the road from the interchange. The interchange didn't re-open until after 9pm.
