Party faithful will gather on Sunday for day two of the state council at the Moonee Valley Racecourse, with senior Liberal Tony Nutt due to give the main points of his election review.
"My understanding is he'll provide an outline to the party with the major assessments in conclusions that he's been able to reach to date, and I'm looking forward to his presentation," re-appointed president Robert Clark told reporters on Saturday.
State leader Michael O'Brien will then give his address.
The theme of the 166th state council is "unified towards success" as the party grapples with repairing factional tensions further strained by the disastrous state election in November.
However the mood at the gathering has been buoyed by the May federal election win.
