Lifeline's logo will feature on team uniforms and at Narrabundah Ballpark on game day, while star player David Kandilas and mascot Sarge will continue as Lifeline ambassadors.

Cavalry director Dan Amodio says the partnership is a huge chance for the club to give back to the Canberra community in the midst of a year marred by the coronavirus pandemic and bushfire smoke.

"These last 12 months have tested the mental health of Canberrans in extreme ways and I've been amazed by how gracefully Lifeline Canberra has risen to meet that challenge," Amodio said.

"Mental health is a key focus throughout our organisation and we hope this announcement will help us do our part in raising awareness for their cause and raising a lot of money for their organisation."

The flagship activation of the partnership will be the "save-a-seat series", which will see a member of the Canberra community treated to a VIP experience during each Cavalry game this summer courtesy of Lifeline Canberra and corporate partners.

"This new partnership with the Lifeline Canberra Cavalry is truly special, to come together after such a challenging year to celebrate inclusions, mateship and the Canberra community is what Lifeline Canberra is all about," Lifeline Canberra chief executive Ms Carrie-Ann Leeson said.

"The Cavalry players are young leaders in the community and their commitment to professional sport keeps them healthy in body and mind.

"It is these attributes we need to share in order to help support those who are thinking of suicide."

The Cavalry are penciled in to begin their season in Perth on December 18, with league officials keeping a close eye on the COVID-19 situation which will have an impact on border restrictions.

Canberra and Perth will join Sydney and Melbourne in the Australian conference, while the Brisbane Bandits, Auckland Tuatara and Geelong-Korea will play the regular season in New Zealand. There will be no conference crossover until the playoffs.
