"It's something I've wanted to do since I was a little girl," she said.
Under the Mistletoe is a venture between herself and husband Ben.
They met more than a decade ago when Jenny was working at Dobinsons bakery in the city and Ben was a customer. She served him coffee. The rest was history.
It was while they were recently sharing another coffee at the Gold Creek Cafe that they spied an empty shop next door.
"I think we looked at it at nine o'clock in the morning and by six o'clock that night, it was ours," Jenny said.
They started Under the Mistletoe in July and in the last three weeks have moved into other empty spaces to double its size.
The shop will sell thousands of Christmas decorations year-round.
Ben is Canberra born and raised while Jenny is originally from England.
"My background is in jewellery but my passion has always been Christmas," Jenny said.
"I'm totally obsessed with Christmas. I have five Christmas trees up at a time and deck out the entire house."
The shop has been busier and busier as word got out.
It's already amassed a following on Facebook.
"The community has just been so supportive and so welcoming," Jenny said.
Under the Mistletoe is at Shop 4, Federation Square 226 O'Hanlon Place in Nicholls.
