Martin was confident Goulburn's combination of youth and local talent would be a force to be reckoned with this season.
"We are a young side, it's good, we've got a lot of local guys and we have a really good junior base," Martin said.
"We missed out on our last trial game so everyone's been ramped up at training and we're getting ready for a physical game."
Meanwhile, West Belconnen Warriors backrower Josh Ayers said his side would be ready for a strong start to the new season.

"We've got a lot of young blokes too and lots of enthusiasm, it's good for an older bloke like me," Ayers said.
"It should be a good hit out. It's always tough going out there [Goulburn] on a Sunday afternoon."
The 34 year-old brings a host of experience to his new club, having been part of the Monaro side which won the Country Championships last month.
"I've played in five of those country championship grand finals and that was the first one I've won," Ayers said.
