Eddowes broke the 110m hurdle qualifying time twice at the Australian Athletics Championships, grabbing silver and smashing his own ACT record in a time of 13.71sec.
He will now be off to compete against the world's best in August with the championships taking place in Kenya.
The ACT has seen more success than usual just over these past two days and up-and-coming which coach Rowan Vergano put down to Canberra's youth development programs.
"There are a lot more coaches than there used to be, of course you've got your established coaches like Matt Beckenham, and up and coming coaches like myself and a few other training groups," Vergano said.
"It's just down to the youth development, athletics is such a fundamental sport and acts as the basis for physical development across all other sports."
Blake Deery has also had a strong week, winning gold in the under 14 boys high jump, and silver in the triple jump.

"Just get out on the track and do it, there are coaches always on the track and elite athletes like Lauren Boden and Melissa Breen to help out," Vergano said.
Other gold medal performances come from Max Berry (u16 boys 100m, 10.91 sec), Josh Lobo (u14 boys 100m, 11.87 sec), and Cameron Myers (u16 boys 1500 metres, 4:04.35) bringing ACT's gold medal tally to four only two days in.
