He said both cases were under investigation, however, it was understood one of the cases was currently isolating in Western NSW where they work.
Contact tracing is underway with more information to come.
In addition two cases have been confirmed in Queanbeyan, both believed to be linked to the ACT, and another case in Googong which is a close contact of a confirmed case.
A further case in Cooma has been confirmed along with one new case in Batemans Bay. Both of these cases are under investigation.
A total of 1281 cases were recorded in the previous 24 hours to 8pm on Sunday night.
NSW Health has been notified of the deaths of five people who had COVID-19 including a man in his 60s from the Southern Highlands who died at home.
There have been 131 COVID-19 related deaths in NSW since June 16, and 187 in total since the start of the pandemic.
There are currently 1071 COVID-19 cases admitted to hospital, with 177 people in intensive care, 67 of whom require ventilation.
It remains vital that anyone who has any symptoms or is a close or casual contact of a person with COVID-19, isolates and is tested immediately.
When testing clinics are busy, please ensure you stay in line, identify yourself to staff and tell them that you have symptoms or are a contact of a case.
