The present room is one of the most beautiful things about Christmas in Canberra. Here, children wander, eyes wide, picking out a gift from the toys, puzzles, books and more that have been donated by St John's parishioners and other supporters of the charity. Many of the children would otherwise receive nothing for Christmas.
The present room opens on Tuesday, December 4 and runs until Friday, December, 14.
"We are still in need of toys for older children and gift cards for teenagers. If you can help, your donations will be
gratefully appreciated,'' is the word from St John's Care.
"In the coming months, we will be putting together our Christmas hampers. In previous years we have provided 300 hampers and this year we are hoping to provide more.
"A troop of Sea Scouts have kindly volunteered to pack the hampers and assist in preparation.''
All Christmas donations need to be at St John's Care off Constitution Avenue by Monday, November 26..
