Topping the list were the three lads from How Ridiculous who travel the globe breaking world records.

Barbara started her blog three years ago as a means to work from home.

She has more than 28,000 followers on Instagram and almost 24,000 on Facebook. She is also a brand ambassador for Milo, Subway and Speedo, meaning the brands pay her to promote their products.

"It was a real surprise," she said, of placing in the top 50.

"It was just incredible."

Barbara, who used to be an administrator in international relations at the Australian National University, started the blog after her divorce as a way to work from home while indulging her love of travel.

Her two girls are distance-educated, so go on the trips, showing families options for travel.

"You can count on us to let you know if our latest flight, kid attraction, product or holiday destination really was family-friendly and fun," Barbara said.

As to what an "influencer" is, Barbara says it's about "how much swing you've got on the internet".

"It's about how many followers you have and when you say something, whether people listen," she said.

Judges believed Let's Go Mum's travel posts were researched thoroughly "with a clear intention to educate and inform others".

"Her Instagram demonstrates that she has lived the experiences, demonstrating authenticity and the effort she puts into her craft," they said.

Barbara says the blog is still a part-time work venture but is growing all the time.

"I like to inspire single parents to travel out into the world with their kids - from their own city family activities to overseas trips," she said.

"Single parents, especially new single parents, may be a little hesitant that they might not be able to plan and set off on a holiday or trip on their own after being part of a couple - I like to show them that it can be done, and be a fabulous bonding experience.

"No matter what your family size, you can still have a great time together through travel."
