Acting Justice Murray Kellam told the jury he understood if they felt tired and wanted a break, since they arrived at court about 9am, and agreed to send them home for the day.
The jury has been deliberating since about 10.30am on Wednesday last week.
They are considering a verdict for Mr Eastman, 73, who has faced a marathon nearly six-month trial accused of murdering Canberra police chief Colin Winchester on January 10, 1989.
The jury reported a stalemate on Monday but the judge encouraged them to continue deliberating.
They will return to the jury room Thursday to begin a seventh day of deliberations.
