The Australian Mint's roof has been tarpaulined by emergency services, after high winds tore off roofing sheets on Tuesday afternoon.

A number of the sheets were found, including some which had been blown into trees more than 100 metres away.

The remaining repairs will be conducted by the Mint at some point in the future.
The ACT State Emergency Services were called to the scene at 3:30pm on Tuesday and conducted emergency repairs on the roof.
Emergency services urged motorists to exercise caution around Deakin, in case they come into contact with one of the missing sheets.
The ACTSES was also called to a home in Gilmore around the same time after a wind gust damaged a pergola.
