Police will allege the victim was recuperating in hospital with a broken leg when Dean Stephen Reid, president of a Canberra chapter of the Satudarah bikie gang, visited the ward in broad daylight and under the glare of surveillance cameras.

Mr Reid allegedly told the man that if he dropped his police statement he would get his car back.

Days earlier on January 10, police allege Mr Reid had gone to the alleged victim's home in Oaks Estate, NSW, with a group of other people and demanded drugs.

Court documents say that while Mr Reid, 30, held the man to the ground and a knife at his throat, another man picked up an electric guitar and began smashing the victim's leg.

Mr Reid allegedly threatened to cut the man's head off and demanded "half an eight ball", which the man said he did not have.

The group were joined by a woman who allegedly said "You're a pig you c--t you deserve what you get" and "get the keys to the cars" and "f--k him up".

The men allegedly stomped on the alleged victim's head before leaving the house with his two phones.

He had also told the group where his car keys were.

At hospital later he was diagnosed with a broken leg and tear to his spleen.

Five days after the incident Mr Reid allegedly walked into the man's hospital ward and said if he dropped his statement he would give the car back.

His trip to the Canberra Hospital and into the ward was allegedly captured on surveillance cameras.

The Giralang man was arrested on Friday afternoon.

Police say Mr Reid is a former president of the East Canberra chapter of the Rebels in 2014 but is now president of the Satudarah.

Mr Reid is charged with aggravated robbery, intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm, making a demand with a threat to kill and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

He applied for bail on Saturday but then withdrew the application. He did not enter pleas.

He is next due in court on February 18.

Police said investigations were ongoing in relation to Mr Reid and outstanding co-offenders.
