The aerial procession is part of a ceremony commemorating Wing Commander Hilson Daly, beginning over Lake Burley Griffin before zooming down Anzac Parade.
A former commanding officer of the squadron, Wing Commander Daly was killed in action in 1944 serving in New Guinea.
The PC-9/A aircraft from Number 4 Squadron, based at Royal Australian Air Force base Williamtown, will take to the skies at 5pm, at speeds of more than 560 kilometres an hour.
The Department of Defence said all flying would be subject to weather conditions and planes would not fly lower than 60 metres above ground level.
