Four in five homes in Canberra are able to connect to the National Broadband Network, according to the company building the NBN.

It said that more than 153,450 homes and businesses were now able to order a service in the ACT.
That would rise to more than 179,650 Canberra premises by the end of June.
It said that work would be concentrated in Deakin, Griffith and Monash.
The head of NBN for the ACT and New South Wales, Amber Dornbusch, said, "As we enter the final stages of the build and we scale up in Canberra, we are pleased to announce that almost four in five homes and businesses locally are now able to experience the benefits of fast broadband by connecting to an NBN plan through a retailer today."
The expansion schedule over the next few months is:
- February: Griffith, Narrabundah, Red Hill (2300 premises in the area);
- March: Deakin, Fadden, Forrest, Fyshwick, Gowrie, Griffith, Macarthur, Monash, Narrabundah, Symonston (8900 premises);
- April: Barton, Capital Hill, Forrest, Parkes (1800 premises);
- May: Banks, Calwell, Chisholm, Conder, Gilmore, Gordon, Isabella Plains, Monash, Richardson (12,200 premises);
- June: Campbell, Canberra Airport, Pialligo, Russell (1000 premises).
That would leave only parts of Fyshwick and Manuka remaining to be covered.

If your place is eligible and if you want NBN, you then have to contact a supplier (the NBN company only puts in the infrastructure like the cables) and compare prices and offerings like data limits or time period for the plan. There are websites that compare plans.
By the way, the parent company capitalises NBN but the brand name of the service doesn't - so it's nbn for the trade-marked service but NBN Co for the company.
