Police say the woman was on a property at Pretty Pine, north of Deniliquin, with five other people when she was shot shortly after midnight. No one else was injured.
The woman was airlifted to Royal Melbourne Hospital, where she remained in a critical condition.
The woman's husband, 32, was refused bail and will return to court on January 23.
