All your inner rage could soon be released in the most cathartic way with Canberra's first "break room" opening soon.
A break room, we're told, is is a dedicated space for breaking plates, mugs, glasses, vases and other fragile items in a safe space, either by throwing them at the walls or by using the tools provided such as hammers, golf clubs, baseball bats, and more.
The new business, called Breakr, is billed as a great way to get over a bad day at the office or a break-up or just to let off steam and stress.
But the organisers do have a proviso: "Breakr is purely for entertainment purposes. If you have anger or stress issues, we recommend seeking professional help".
And it will only be ages 18 or older. Patrons will don safety gear, sign a waiver, get a safety briefing and then be unleashed for 15 minutes of satisfying smashing.
The break room will be located inside Axxe - Canberra’s first axe-throwing venue - in Lyell Street in Fyshwick.
Both businesses are due to open in early December.
The owners Chris Krajacic and Jesse Mount who also run The Riddle Room in Canberra.
Chris, a former music teacher, and Jess, a former public servant, "are passionate about bringing more variety in entertainment to Canberra".
"We feel that Canberra has a reputation of missing out on cool things and we want to try and fix that," Chris said.
