In the days before Alex Ophel attacked his Australian National University classmates and tutor with a baseball bat he posted a cryptic video to his Thane Jekyll YouTube channel, a jury heard Wednesday.

Mr Ophel calls it a very special video and speaks directly to the camera, thanking people who had supported him throughout the years.
He says Thane will no longer being posting videos.
"I'll never forget you, I hope you'll never forget me," he says.
He admits he's being a bit cryptic, and poses the question, why will I disappear?
"Well, you'll find out if I'm successful. If I'm not successful you might see some more Thane videos. So either way, win-win," he says.
The video was played to the ACT Supreme Court on Wednesday as a series of Mr Ophel's primary and high school friends were called to give evidence.
The 19-year-old former student is charged with five counts of attempted murder, to which he has pleaded not guilty by reason of mental impairment.
One girl who Mr Ophel had feelings for in high school told the court he had written her two poems.
She also described an incident at a party in which Mr Ophel entered the bathroom where she and two other girlfriends were talking, and he refused to leave.
She said Mr Ophel pushed her into the bathtub and held her there, and slapped another girl hard on the bottom.
While they were both still in high school the woman met with Mr Ophel and told him she did not want a relationship with him.
She told the court how Mr Ophel invited her to a walk on Mount Painter and said he probably wouldn't rape her.
He said in another conversation that he would rape women if it wasn't illegal.
The woman told the jury that Mr Ophel would joke about the size of his friends' penises, and once commented on a photo of her cat on Facebook that he liked her pussy.
Prosecutor Shane Drumgold also asked the woman if she knew who Elliot Rogers was. She said he had murdered people in the US and was motivated by women not liking him or being unsuccessful with women.
The court earlier heard via other friends that Mr Ophel had posted a photo of Rogers to a group chat and would mock school shooters like Rogers.
The woman had seen most of the videos Mr Ophel posted to his Thane Jekyll account, and one was about her.
She said Mr Ophel was saying he wanted her to see it so he could get revenge and also read a poem he had written called "maggots".
On the morning of the attack, Mr Ophel sent the woman a Facebook message telling her to stay classy, and to look up the slowed down version of the song Smells Like Teen Spirit on YouTube.
Mr Ophel's mother, Alison Childs, also gave evidence on Wednesday, telling the court that the night before the August 25, 2017 attack her son had a flat demeanour and the feeling of a taut spring.
She said that after the attack while in hospital, jail and the Dhulwa mental health unit, Mr Ophel spoke of television shows talking to him, shows having a special meaning and others, or higher order beings.
She recounted one statement he made to her with a straight face: "Yes I have the ability to communicate with higher-order beings."
Ms Childs said her son stopped taking his medication while in jail when higher-order beings told him to because he would disappear.
He was forced to take his medication by injection, the court heard.
His mother denied when questioned by Mr Drumgold that she had ever spoken to Mr Ophel about the symptoms psychiatrists look for when diagnosing schizophrenia.
And she said that the first time Mr Ophel had ever spoken of those things was after the attack.
