Garriock's deal will be announced on Wednesday morning after finalising the details of a coaching arrangement, which has expanded beyond her W-League duties.
News of the contract comes as Capital Football made major changes at the organisations annual general meeting on Monday night.
Capital Football chairman Mark O'Neill has stepped down after six years in the role, while former Canberra United player Grace Gill and Gary Vandeburgt have been elected as board members.
O'Neill ends 54 years of involvement in Canberra soccer. "I have appreciated the opportunity to work with the football community," O'Neill said.
"Capital Football is in great shape and it is the right time to step back and let others continue to develop and realise the potential of football. I will involve myself in other ways."
The changes off the field mirror the start of a new-look role for Garriock, who has been the Canberra United coach since last year.
The former Matildas star will now also guide Canberra's young generation of female players via the Canberra United Academy and coach in the women's premier league competition.
It will give her a chance to cast her eye over potential W-League talent and invest in the pathway system.
"It's a full-time role that requires coach all-year round, which I think is fantastic," Garriock said.
"The thing I'm most excited about is being able to tap into that young generation that aspires to being a part of Canberra United.
"It's a win-win for everyone. Being a W-League coach for half of the season, I'm sure the young players dream of being able to play for Canberra United. I'm super excited by that."
Canberra United has missed the play-offs in both of Garriock's seasons in charge after rebuilding the squad when she arrived.
"I get to make an imprint on the football pathway and we can have the same philosophy from the top to bottom," Garriock said.
