One of the victims of a brutal assault in Jindabyne has returned to the scene to walk police through the attack, which the local chamber of commerce president says does not appear to have deterred tourists from visiting the town.

A 25-year-old man and his 22-year-old female friend were set upon by a group of men as they walked along Kosciuszko Road towards a hotel after leaving Banjo Patterson Hotel about 1am on Thursday.
Police said the man was punched in the head and knocked unconscious before one of the attackers physically and sexually assaulted the woman.
Police said when the man regained consciousness, he tried to help his friend but was assaulted again.
He eventually managed to flag down a passing car and the attackers fled.
The man, who was taken to Cooma Hospital to be treated for facial injuries after the attack, returned to the scene opposite Foreshore Park, near the Jindabyne Inn, with investigators on Sunday.
Police and ACT Health would not confirm whether the woman, who was taken to Canberra Hospital, had been discharged, but she has reportedly returned home.
NSW Police said the victims were holidaymakers from northern NSW.
Jindabyne Chamber of Commerce president Bruce Easton said the attack didn't appear to have deterred tourists from visiting the Snowy Mountains town for the ski season.
"Apart from hearing about [the attack] in the media, I wasn't aware of it," said Mr Easton, who also runs Wilderness Sports.
"It's been so busy for us over the weekend.
"By and large, [Jindabyne] is a safe and friendly place."
Detectives from Strike Force Buckeridge, which has been set up to investigate the assault, have launched an appeal to identify a man described as being about 180cm tall and of solid build.
At the time of the assault, he was wearing a light-coloured, baggy, hooded jumper.
Police have also urged anyone who was driving in the area of Kosciuszko Road, and Kalkite and Clyde streets, between 1am and 2am on Thursday morning to check their dash-cams.
A request to interview detectives from Strike Force Buckeridge was declined.
In a statement, Monaro Police district commander Acting Superintendent Sandra Green said police had stepped up their presence throughout the Snowy Mountains as visitors continued to flock in for the snow season.
Acting Superintendent Green said the community had already provided police with "significant assistance" in their investigation.
