The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, held one of the three division one winning entries in this week's Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw, each taking home the guaranteed division one prize of $1 million.
She discovered her win while reading the newspaper at home. The numbers are a combination of family birthdates, which she has been using for 41 years.
"My husband and I didn't believe it. We had to rush to a newsagency to check our ticket," she said.
"We've had small wins in the past, but nothing like this."
In addition to winning division one, the winner's marked System 7 entry also won other divisional prizes, taking her total windfall to $1,001,070.40.
The winning ticket was purchased at Dickson Newsagency.
"It's come at a great time," the woman said.
"We're going to use the money to help our children.
"Some travel sounds good too."
