Punters laughing but not listening to Turnbull government

Only a major external event or crisis – say war with North Korea – seems likely to be able to turn the Turnbull government switch from vaudeville and back to serious. Once people start laughing at you, it becomes hard for them to take you seriously subsequently, as Julia Gillard or Tony Abbott could attest.
