An ACT Supreme Court jury found Mary Ivanisevic, 45, not guilty of attempted murder and a lesser back-up charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm this week.
She was accused of stabbing her mother after the woman was found on the floor of her Curtin home with a gash to the chest.
Ms Ivanisevic maintained her innocence; her mother said she inflicted the wound herself.
She was cleared of both charges on Monday but remained in custody on separate charges before the ACT Magistrates Court.
Prosecutors opposed Ms Ivanisevic's bid for bail when she returned to court on charges of failing to appear and failure to provide an oral fluid sample on Thursday.
Her Legal Aid defence lawyer urged Magistrate Bernadette Boss to consider the circumstances behind her client's failure to show up to court earlier this year.
Ms Ivanisevic's mother, who suffered a terminal illness, died in late February and her funeral was due to take place the same day in March the accused was to attend court, she said.
The lawyer admitted Ms Ivanisevic had not tried to contact the court, but said it was an "emotionally turbulent" time for her client, who was trying to organise the funeral, and the court date "simply wasn't at the forefront of her mind".
Ms Ivanisevic was still grieving and frightened she would be returned to custody on the attempted murder charge when she failed to show up at court again weeks later.
Prosecutors said Ms Ivanisevic's history showed a disregard for bail conditions and court dates, even months before her mother's death and the trial in the higher court.
One disappearance in April sparked an extensive police search and a request for the public's help to find her in the weeks before that trial was set to begin.
But Ms Ivanisevic's lawyer said the trial went ahead on schedule and noted her mother was dying of terminal illness for some time.
She said the accused had been staying with her partner in Kambah and hadn't left the ACT during the time police were searching for her.
Dr Boss said Ms Ivanisevic's history of failing to appear and breaching court orders gave her no confidence any bail conditions would be complied with, or that she would show up when required.
She refused bail.
Ms Ivanisevic was remanded in custody and will face court again in August.
