Thompson faced Queanbeyan Local Court for a hearing before he was taken to the ACT Watch House.
Police alleged Thompson was one of two men who donned balaclavas before they walked into the Cellarbrations liquor store in O'Hanlon Place and pulled a gun on the cashier the night of April 27 2016.
They allegedly demanded cash and cigarettes and fled with the goods in a white Ford Courier ute.
Thompson pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery, possessing a prohibited firearm and driving a vehicle without consent when he faced the ACT Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
He did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody.
Thompson also pleaded not guilty to further charges of assault, threat to kill and driving whilst disqualified stemming from an alleged family violence incident last May.
He'll return to court later this month.
