Hot on the heels of her Fashfest show, Cooma fashion designer Charly Thorn has been selected to take her collection even further afield – this time to the northern hemisphere.
The 17-year-old, who was the youngest designer on the catwalk at Canberra's three-night fashion event last week, has been selected to showcase at Vancouver Fashion Week in March 2017.
It will be only her fourth appearance on the catwalk, having also participated twice in Cooma's Fashionation show.
Thorn's designs proved popular at Fashfest, earning her a standing ovation as she walked the runway following her show alongside former international model Anneliese Seubert, who is also from Cooma and has known Charly since she was young.
It seems the North Americans are lapping up our fashion talent.
In heading to Vancouver Fashion Week, Thorn is following in the footsteps of Canberra designer Emma O'Rourke, of The Label, who showcased at the same event last month.
And Tuggeranong-raised Jessica Van, who now calls Sydney home, recently sent her collection down the runway at New York Fashion Week.
