A Canberra construction company has pleaded guilty to safety failings involved in a fatal accident that saw a worker hit by a reversing grader weeks before Christmas.

Wayne Vickery, 45 of Yass, was killed while working on a Macgregor construction site in 2011.
The worker, a veteran of the constructor industry, was crouching down to check ground levels to help build roads in a new residential housing estate.
The grader began reversing towards him, and others yelled out in warning.
But their yells could not be heard, and the grader knocked Mr Vickery over, causing fatal injuries.
Canberra Contractors Pty Ltd were taken to court and charged with criminal offences over the accident.
Prosecutors alleged safety failings contributed to the incident.
The company was to fight the allegations in the ACT Supreme Court this year, and it was expected to be the first case of its kind to face trial in the higher court.
But on Tuesday the company entered a plea of guilty to one charge before Chief Justice Helen Murrell.
It will now face sentencing, which will begin in August.
