With the deadline of 8pm Thursday fast approaching, the Australian Electoral Commission has reminded Australians that it's not just those who have had their 18th birthday since the last election that need to lodge their details.
"Australians must also update their address details on the electoral roll if they have moved, or changed their name," electoral commissioner Tom Rogers said.
"A record 96.5 per cent of eligible Australians are currently enrolled, which is an extraordinary achievement. At the same time, there are still people who remain unenrolled who need to take action before the deadline."
Mr Rogers also encouraged those who were unsure of their current status to check via the commission's website or by calling 13 23 26.
This includes checking whether address or name details have been updated since the last election.
The best and quickest way to enrol or update address or name details is online.
Australians unable to go online can pick up a paper enrolment form at an Australian Electoral Commission office or Australia Post, however, correctly completed applications must be returned to the AEC by the 8pm, Thursday, April 18 close of rolls deadline.
Seventeen-year-old Australians turning eighteen years of age on or before May 18, 2019 should also enrol and vote in the federal election.
