The Australian War Memorial is expecting tens-of-thousands to attend Thursday's events along Anzac Parade with preparations already on show for punters passing the memorial before then.

The memorial said people should start planning ahead for Thursday. The dawn service begins at 5.30am and seating opens for the national ceremony from 9am, before the ceremony at 10.30am.
This year's dawn service commemorative address will be delivered by Corporal Mark Donaldson VC.
The forecast is for a cool start to Thursday, when the Bureau of Meteorology is expecting a low of about 9 degrees. The rest of the day is forecast to be mostly sunny, with just a 10 per cent chance of rain.
Transport Canberra is offering free public transport to the dawn service with a "register to ride" service. The pick-up locations for the service include Gungahlin bus station, Westfield Belconnen, Woden bus station and Tuggeranong bus station.
Continuous loop shuttles for the dawn service will run from the city bus station, Majura shopping precinct, the Russell offices and the Canberra Centre.

The directorate urged people to use public transport, with limited parking at the venue.
The light rail will run to its usual public holiday schedule but start earlier at 7am rather than 8:30am; it will not start early enough to get people to the dawn service.
Return trips from the dawn service and national ceremony will depart after each event and won't require registration.
Between 2000 and 2500 people are expected to take part in the veterans march at 10.50am, which will be headed by Ben Roberts-Smith VC.
The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting mostly sunny conditions on Thursday, with a low of nine degrees.
Visitors to the memorial are encouraged to bring chairs or rugs to to view the ceremonies from outside ticketed seating areas, with large screens located around the grounds.
A commemorative ceremony for Indigenous Australians who served in the Australian forces will be held at "the Rock" on the slopes of Mount Ainslie at 6.30am, behind the war memorial.
This service, held just after the dawn service at 5.30am, is open to all members of the public. The last post ceremony will still be held at 4.45pm on Thursday before the memorial closes at 5pm.
Private and guided tours of the memorial will not be held, but the memorial will be open to the public after the national ceremony is finished.
The memorial's commemorative area will also be open to the public after the dawn service finishes, before closing again at 8am.
There will be a RAAF flypast of Parliament House and Anzac Parade towards the war memorial at 12.15pm.
